McSweeney Sports Surfaces installs 3 types of synthetic tennis surface for tour events, professional clubs, schools, local leisure or community run facilities Ireland wide.
In addition to new tennis court installations, we also repair, improve and maintain existing surfaces. We can work on damaged or worn tarmacadam surfaces and give you a new synthetic surface in its place.
The synthetic grass selected is determined by the speed of the surface required. The various grass products are subjected to various tests as specified by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Standard EN15330. The main ones are: surface pace rating (speed), slip resistance, traction coefficient, shock absorption, porosity and durability. The ITF determines the speed of the surface and classifies it as slow, medium or fast.
Polyurethane / EPDM court system. Homogenised, coloured, water-permeable, extremely abrasion-resistant, UV and weather resistant. There are many colour options available for this system.
The three coat system for new or existing tarmacadam or concrete coats is available in 8 different colours. This system is effective in restoring weathered and eroded areas to a smooth, refurbished playing surface suitable for intensive use.
There are many examples of our synthetic tennis surface installations nationwide.
Do you have a tennis court that looks like this? Does it detract from the rest of your house?
Have you thought of resurfacing with a polymeric surface. You could line it for soccer and or basketball making it a fun surface for everyone while changing the feel and landscape of your house and surrounds”

With the support of a grant from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport under the 2012 Sports Capital Programme, Mullingar Harriers Athletic Club engaged McSweeney Sports Surfaces to construct four all weather sprint lanes 100m in length, incorporating a long jump runway and pit. The project was completed within the agreed budget, on time and up to the highest standard, which was due to the professionalism of the staff of McSweeney Sports, led by the example of Mike McSweeney.
Work took just ten days spread over a two month period during which the Club Grounds remained safely in full use with no restrictions due to the works, which was very important to the Executive and members of the Club. The completed project has met with the universal approval of the members of Mullingar Harriers AC and has a proved a tremendous addition to the facilities at the Club, which will serve the members well for many years to come.
Is iontach an áis iad na páirceanna ‘astro-turf’ a cuireadh isteach sa scoil anuraidh. Tá páistí na scoile ag súgradh orthu gach nóimead den lá mar ní bhíonn said riamh fliúch. Is aoibhinn leis na páistí na páirceanna. Freisin baineann clubanna áitiúla usáid as na páirceanna gach oíche. Táimíd lán-sásta leis na páirceanna agus an obair a rinne Mc Sweeney Sports dúinn.
